Scope of Practice
Anamiva Yoga follows the ethics and scope of practice set forth by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT). You can find the full scope of practice document on the IAYT website. Anamiva Yoga also carefully takes into consideration the competency level which each therapist has reached, and assigns blog posts, discussions, and questions appropriately. Anamiva Yoga will be clear about educational backgrounds, teaching experience, and resources for each topic discussed. Also, Anamiva Yoga will refer students elsewhere, using our vast and qualified community, if we feel as though we are unable to help a student or individual.
Informed Consent of Private yoga therapy and therapeutic yoga practices
By using Anamiva Yoga and its website and its therapeutic yoga practices, as well as private yoga therapy, you agree to the following:
You consent to engage in Yoga therapy for your health problem. I understand that Yoga therapeutic methods are based on principles of Yoga, scientific data, and the experience of Yoga teachers, and they are not, as yet, considered standard treatments in mainstream medicine or physical therapy. You understand that you should consult with your physician and obtain his or her consent prior to beginning therapy. You also understand that you have been advised to consult a physician if you have not already done so. You understand that, during the Yoga sessions, you will complete the activities designed for your condition. Should any symptoms, pain, discomfort, or other concerns occur or change at any point, you will immediately inform the Yoga therapist, as necessary adjustments in your treatment may be appropriate. You understand that touching or positioning of your body may be necessary to ensure that you are using the appropriate procedure, and you expressly consent to such physical contact. If you do not wish to be touched, you will verbally inform and notify the therapist, so that a joint decision can be made about whether it is appropriate to continue the practice with that limitation. You understand that there exists the possibility of bodily injury during the sessions. You understand further that the Yoga therapy is designed to benefit your health-related concern but that the treatment cannot be guaranteed to be successful. Your progress will be monitored by your Yoga therapist over the course of the sessions. You understand that your Yoga therapist is not a licensed physician, that the Yoga therapy provided is complementary to licensed healing arts, and that the practices are not licensed by the state or federal government. The qualifications of my Yoga therapist are shown in their profiles as well as available at any time. You understand that information obtained regarding your health or personal history will be treated as privileged and confidential by the therapist and will not be released or revealed to any person without my express consent, except as required by law. You understand that the therapist may consult with other Yoga therapists or health professionals about your progress to help improve my treatment. In so doing, your identity will not be revealed. Finally, you understand that you are encouraged to ask questions and discuss your progress with the therapist at all times.

Practice with Safety
No teacher knows your body as well as you do so listen to your body. If anything doesn't feel right, you are free to take breaks and/or skip poses or sequences that are not suitable for you. One of the most important skills yoga can teach us is greater body awareness!
We offer no medical advice. Please consult your medical practitioner before starting any new exercise regime, and/or when practicing or trying any physical practices from Anamiva Yoga for the first time. Discussing new practices with a certified healthcare practitioner is particularly important for, but not limited to, the following conditions: if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, have low or high blood pressure, or have any existing medical condition or injuries. Anamiva Yoga offers suggestions for therapeutic conditions and ailments, but this does not mean that Anamiva Yoga knows your body better than you or your doctor.
Although Anamiva Yoga offers suggestions and practices for a variety of conditions, injuries, and ailments, the information on our website may not be tailored to your physical and/or mental health. Always seek proper medical or psychiatric assistance if experiencing any form of distress. All of the practices offered are mere suggestions, and no promise of improvement of health or mental state is promised.
If you feel dizzy, light-headed, faint, or if you experience any other discomfort, stop immediately and stop the practice. Consult a medical doctor if your symptoms do not pass. You are responsible for your condition during your practices. Exercise and practice within your limits. Never force or strain physical postures or breathing techniques.
The information provided on our website is provided for educational and background purposes only. Using the website and the information provided is at your own risk.
We recommend that you use these online classes in addition to attending private yoga therapy classes or yoga therapy workshops with one of the experienced yoga therapists of Anamiva Yoga or in your community who can observe you and give you personal guidance where required.
Booking Terms and How to Book
In order to be transparent, professional, and maintain the student-teacher relationship, Anamiva Yoga provides to it's potential students and current students the following terms concerning booking any one of the individual yoga instructor or yoga therapist's offerings.
All sessions for private yoga therapy, regardless of whether it is a student's first session or follow-up session, must be booked at least 48 hours in advance. All students must directly inquire and book their sessions through the specific yoga therapist's landing page. The yoga therapist reserves every right to decline a booking. Reasons for declining a booking might include, but are not limited to, time and/ rental space not available, a session already booked with another student, conflict with therapist's travel schedule, outside of available timings and/or days.
Payments for your session(s) must be paid in full to your yoga therapist when the booking is confirmed. YOUR SESSION IS NOT FULLY CONFIRMED UNTIL YOU HAVE MADE PAYMENT FOR YOUR SESSION(S).
There are three steps to booking and receiving a session confirmation. This is the same process for booking a private yoga therapy consultation.
1. Send a booking inquiry or request for a private yoga therapy consultation through the individual yoga therapist's landing page by clicking the appropriate button, such as the "Book Your Session!" button, located near the top of the page.
2. Your yoga therapist will contact you first by phone to confirm the booking date and time, as well as your preferred payment method. If unavailable at the time of contact, the yoga therapist will leave both a voicemail when appropriate and send an email.
Note: If you wish to be contacted only through email, please verbalize your preferred method of communication as phone calls on the booking form's additional comments and questions section.
3. Once payment is received, you will receive a Private Yoga Therapy Session Confirmation and Self-Assessment email. Your session is fully confirmed!
Note: For further booking questions, please contact us through either a personal landing page or the general contact form, or follow the link at the bottom of the terms page.
Self-Assessment, Intake, and Progress Reports
Self-Assessment, Intake forms, and Progress Reports are used to provide yoga therapy to clients. All information is kept strictly confidential, whether collected in person or electronically. Prior to your first session with the yoga therapist, please set aside approximately 30-45 minutes to complete the self-assessment form. To better plan, modify, and accommodate each individual, please fill out the self-assessment at least 24 hours before your first session. The self-assessment and intake forms are available to you through the Anamiva Yoga website, however, they can also be requested in an electronic format sent to the student's email address or in a paper copy from the yoga therapist's home office.
All fields on the self-assessment are voluntary except intake forms that contain the medical information and liability waiver, informed consent, and signatures at the bottom of the page; however, in order to better serve you, please fill out the self-assessment form as completely as possible. The more your yoga therapist is able to connect, understand, and adjust for your specific needs, the more therapeutic the session will be. If you forget to include a specific condition or need, feel free to send a follow-up email. Your yoga therapist will be discussing your self-assessment during the first session and going through all intake documents with you.
A reminder email will be sent to students 48 hours prior to their first session if they have not filled out the self-assessment. Your yoga therapist spends special attention and effort to provide to you the most complete and holistic yoga therapy session, so it is absolutely necessary to the complete self-assessment and send to your yoga therapist at least 24 hours in advance to assess the information you have provided.
Progress reports on the student will be given throughout regular intervals. For group therapy workshops or courses, a progress report will be given only if multiple sessions are attended by the student. Otherwise, a progress report will be given at the end of the third session with private yoga therapy clients or as seen fit by the yoga therapist. Progress reports are subjective analysis of the student's practice.
Payments, Financial Assistance, Fees, and Cancellation Policy
All payments, whether for group or individual sessions, are due at the time of booking (at least 48 hours in advance of session.) Payments are accepted in cash, check written to individual yoga therapist, or through the individual yoga therapists' PayPal or PayTM account. You can access PayPal and PayTM account via the therapists' landing page.
Rates are not negotiable. The yoga therapist reserves the right to change rates at any time. For promotions, deals, and special offers, the expiration date will be stated and firmly enforced, and if not stated, then the offer does not expire.
Anamiva Yoga understands that financial assistance might be needed by some of our students. A financial assistance application will need to be completed and assessed by your yoga therapist. There is no guarantee of financial assistance, but Anamiva Yoga strives to make yoga therapy accessible for all people, and Anamiva Yoga will make its best efforts to help students who are in need.
Any additional fees will be expressed to the student explicitly with full disclosure of the nature of the fee. Fees discussed with the student prior to the yoga therapy session are due at the time of the booking. Any fees that are billed to students or clients after the session are due within 30 days of invoice.
Your yoga therapist takes special effort and time to prepare for your session, in addition to renting space, traveling to the session, and researching your individual case. Due to loss of resources and respect to both the student and the yoga therapist, Anamiva Yoga has a strict cancellation policy.
- If you cancel your session with 48 hours advance notice, 50% of your payment will be held and paid directly to the yoga therapist.
- If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice, Anamiva Yoga reserves the right to hold 100% of your payment.
Anamiva Yoga understands that extenuating circumstances do occur; however, we also feel that communication and commitment to the practice is necessary for progress. For this reason, exceptions to the policy are reserved solely to the individual therapist which you have canceled the session with.
Communication and Confidentiality
Some students choose to use email, texting and social media as a way of communicating. Anamiva Yoga requests that clients do not use social media as a form of communication about booking or schedule changes, and if Anamiva Yoga is contacted through these forms, Anamiva Yoga and its therapists will direct the conversation to the phone or professional email. Anamiva Yoga states that any of these forms of communication may be putting you are risk of confidentiality breaches, but most likely in the form of social media communication. Anamiva Yoga encourages any depth of information NOT be shared through these forms of communication and saved for your sessions together with your therapist. Some clients prefer to use text messages and emails primarily for schedule changes, which Anamiva Yoga will use diligence in replying and being up to date. Anamiva Yoga can assure you that voicemails and what we say in person or over the phone is confidential, but Anamiva Yoga cannot guarantee this with other forms of communication such as Text, Email, Social Media communication.
